just scored a 32bit ignitech ignition to fire the ignition and Fi.
Things are coming together really slowly and I promise to make more time next year (no touring for me except IOM classic TT)
Ignijet 32 Bit Proccessor Fully programmable Engine
management system.
Unit is a version B
so has shift light and quickshifter function built in.
Unit can control up to 8
injectors,4 ignition coils,2 servo motors and or stepper motor(idle
control).
This unit is not like a powercommander or suchlike it is
designed to replace the stock ECU completely and give you full control
over everything.Suitable for any tuned engine where you need full
control.

TB's stripped
Stripped the GSXR Throttle bodies and the inlets fit the original carb rubbers.
think I'll take off the secondary butterflies as 1 is not there anyway.
Its something the suzuki boys do anyway.
I can then hopefully tap the holes and fit air flow sensors for the Microsquirt input.
TPS is separate from this and is needed.
I also need to setup a crank sensor with 2 TDC's as its a 180 crank. MS will sense the VR through the gaps in the tooted crank wheel. I may locate this on the righe pinion which connects to the clutch basket

GSX-r 600 TB's
these have arrived and the inlet side fits the original inlet rubbers
these split apart and I am going to use the 2 outer ones for the TPS and cable hook up.
the cold start will only work the left hand TB but peeps have taken these out completly but struggle with cold starting. As mine is kick start only, I need all the help I can get. I may even have to bump start it, we'll see

Its not over
Sorry its been a while, I bought another bike to travel spain and so took all my money and time up.
So I've spoken to a contact regarding supercharging and because of the 180' crank there are issues with balance of the intakes and he recommend I use FI withthe super charger.
I've just purchased a GSXR600 throttle bodies and mini loom and will disect these to go on the inlet. These bodies are early K1 -3 and have separate bodies so easier to separate and make up the correct distance.
Along with this I'm getting micro squirt to manage ignition and the injectors whilst making use of the TPS and Idle sensor.
still a slow burn project as the wife wants a new bathroom

This is going to be a back burner project as this has never been done before on an XS400.
I've decided to try another approach to fitting the charger and this seems to fit (just)
I may get away with a 90mm pulley system which will make the crank fitment a little easier. It will aslo facillitate the jockey wheel and leave enough space for the belt to be pinched. the fuel will enter the top aprt and exit from the bottom Mount/ manifold. not sure whether to have 2 out lets either side (which looks good)or go for a single side to plennum chamber

supercharger mount
A bit more work on mounting the supercharger
checking gaps, belt route, pulley size (prob 60mm 1:1 ratio)
only 50mm gap between the SC and the head, so its an up and over tube arrangment
whilst changing over the fill casting, the last person ommitted to fit a nut on the lobe gears
its a strange size, 14mm x 1mm thread very fine

managed to weld a temporary mount together in steel just to see what fits where etc etc.
think i'm going with 60mm pulleys 1:1 ratio in order for the ribbed belt to follow the starter chain route.
up and over 1.5" tube to the inlets .
there's
only 50mm gap between charger and cyl block, so inlet will start off
going down into the starter motor area and up to the right side

new pistons
Decidied that the GPZ900 pistons will have too high a compression so I've done some digging and come up with Honda transalp pistons at 74mm.
just bought some GS500E cylinder liners and had them machined OD 81mm and will get them fitted to an enlarged cyl and crank mouth.
I have also got another engine so if it goes pear shaped, I have a back-up

New Con rods and GPZ pistons
Bernd on xs400.net in Germany have found that XJR1300 conrods fit the XS crank.
He also used GPZ900 standard pistons, whilst at 72.5mm, still ok to bore out the barrel to that size.
the bearing shells of the XJR.
XS .............. => XJR
1L9-11656-00 => 36Y-11656-00
1L9-11656-10 => 36Y-11656-10
1L9-11656-20 => 36Y-11656-20
1L9-11656-30 => 36Y-11656-30
The pistons need to be modified on a milling machine and new valve cut outs made for the XS valves
The only issue is that they are 1mm too high.

SU carb
Today I started collecting parts for the build.
SU 1 1/4" H2 rebuilt
this mounts at an angle which hopefully will pair up with the angle of the charger.
Need to think about pipe work and mounting the blower.
For this I have made some mounting templates out of card and when I get the tracker MOT'd (as its due) and the FZ600 back up and running, I'll take the bike off the road.

supercharging the XS
this arrived today
Its an Aisin AMR300 Supercharger which I'm fitting to the tracker.
Going to take all year to do, but I think it will be awesome
XJR1300 conrods, weld up the oil hole for the starter chain and fit a 4 rib serpentine pulley in place of the original sprocket.
need to work out the ratio (leaning on 1:1)
Its a suck through system so can't have an intercooler, pop off valve needed for backfires
there's one fitted to an SR500 for inspiration

battery ..again
well the new battery died because I over charged it, its supposed not to discharge but it went down to 8 volts and as a battery, 8v is not enough.
So I went back to the alarm battery system and the bike starts a treat. For £7 I'm not fussing if it goes again I'll just buy a new one :)
updated the airfilter inlets as the old air filter tubes went hard and I couldn't get them on the carbs.
I am running a crank breather tube into an old deodorant bottle as a catch bottle.

Its Arrived!
well the Battery has finally arrived.
The first one got stolen and the American company sent another, premium class and it arrived in 4 days.
had to do a little rewire and a relocation. I will post pictures later.
This Lithium battery can only take 14.4 volts max and when I tested the bike with a spare battery it went to 15 volts so I have bought another reg/rec to hopefully get this down to the 14.4 volts.

Another new battery
well I've given up on the alarm battery. the 2nd one went today. It
didn't leave me stranded but I couldn't go out to play today and that
makes me MAD
anyway after hours of searching I came across 2 US sites;
motydesign and Ballistic EVO2 50 4-Cell Lithium Battery
http://www.motydesign.com/product.ph...4-cell-battery
http://www.ebay.com/itm/320960389162...witem=&vxp=mtr
I went for the Ballistic as its orange and suits the tracker colours
both will fit inside the seat area and the Motydesign one would prob be easier to fit, but who said anything about looks being easy?
I got a meet coming up in 3 weeks, lets hope it arrives before then
